About Project Aspire

Project Aspire was started by Vanessa Slivken, who received her Bachelor of Science in Child Psychology and Youth Studies from the University of Minnesota. She then provided therapy to children on the Autism Spectrum. Upon observing the struggles of the families of these children, Vanessa went on to obtain her Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University.

While in graduate school, Vanessa worked as a counselor at a residential treatment center for adolescents struggling with mental health and chemical dependency. The journeys of these kids and their families solidified Vanessa's desire to obtain the degree and licensure needed to share her knowledge and resources with individuals, couples, and families.

Vanessa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and is currently providing individual, couples, and family therapy for all age ranges in-clinic and in-home.

Vanessa has professional memberships in the Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the Minnesota Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT), the Association for Play Therapy (A4PT), and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
